I started saving 2 years ago to buy a new laptop, but in January 2023, I had to use โฆ100,000 of my savings to rent a laptop for five months to complete my final year project as my department needed me to build a software for my project
Since then, Iโve been saving again, and by December I had โฆ246,000. But Iโve had to use some of that money to handle unplanned expenses. Last weekend, I had to take out โฆ20,000 again, leaving me with โฆ183,000.
I know I need to continue pushing even without a laptop, and i've tried, last year i tried using my phone to code, and my phone was not having it, it literally clocked out and I still had to use out of my laptop saving to fix it. Omoooo
Here we know it not enough to go to learn a skill, you have to be on top of it all and all the technologies both those you need and those you don't need, while looking for employment. Without a laptop i feel crippled and disadvantaged because, how long without practice before my skills rust, not to talk of upskilling.
I need โฆ200,000 more to complete my savings and buy a laptop I need to restart my career.
I'm trying to save up but everyday it seems I might not complete my savings
I know I can because in school a job employment letter to me was retracted because I didn't have a laptop.
Without a laptop, itโs been hard to work or take on new opportunities.
Iโve tried my best to save, but issues keep getting in the way. Any help you can offer would mean so much to me and help me move forward.

I have been looking for a job every day in 2024 so I decided to start a podcast to meet the emotional needs of job seekers like me who are fed up with the job market.
My laptop battery and charger are faulty. My laptop only comes on when plugged into a power source and since the charger is bad, I use a laptop powerbank to work (see image in this link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1x4p6bI1SmBTS9k4WlxqND4n1tm-Vm-Rd7jfPINwnw7g/edit?usp=sharing), which lasts for less than 40 minutes before it goes off. I will have to charge it again before use because I canโt charge the laptop power bank and use it at the same time.
Also, the hard disk is bad. The little time I have to work is shared with how good the drive is in those few minutes. What I mean is, I will be working and I will see the blue screen of death and everything has to start again, and the laptop also boots very slowly.
I do not have a mobile phone so I can only work with a laptop.
Even with this problem, I met my learning goals for 2024
1. Completed the YAPPI 3D Animation and Post-Production online course at Del-York Academy
2. Completed the Artificial Intelligence online course at Niya Academy
And each time it goes off, the hard drive keeps getting worse.
Repairing this laptop will help me meet all my 2025 goals.

My name is Ndiana and I passed the ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity exam in April 2024. Iโve been self-studying to become a VAPT analyst, completing labs like PortSwigger Cross-Site Scripting and SQL Injection, CTF challenges like Openwire Bandit and Natas, and learning programming languages like JavaScript, Python, and Bash scripting.
Since October, my Dell Latitude E7450 laptop's battery has been malfunctioningโoverheating and swelling. It has progressively gotten worse making it difficult to use for anything beyond basic applications. This issue has significantly slowed my progress.
A new battery, which costs โฆ45,000, would allow me to continue my studies and work towards securing a Cybersecurity internship this year. I've attached in the link below video proof of the battery issue and my Cybersecurity progress.

My name is Ajibade Gbenro, I am a Petroleum and gas engineering student at the University of Lagos, currently in my fourth year. Besides this, I also applied for the ALX Africa Software engineering which I got to pass my foundational classes that lasted for 3 months, due to my bad laptop and being unrepairable (motherboard issue, I was told to get a new one). I contacted my brother that works for Lafarge cement company to see if I could get a system from their IT team for a low cost ( they change their laptop after some times and they do sell them off, though it might have minor issue like battery or charging port or even screen which I am able to repair).
Besides locking in for 2025 in the Tech spaces with ALX Africa and some course I'm taking at Codeacademy, I do need a laptop for my simulations course as a Petroleum engineer.
As at the time I sent out my first comment, I had 30k with me and the laptop was coming for 130K -150k (it is a Corei5, 256gb and an 8GRam Lenovo thinkpad) but as at now, I had to get data for my online classes, I'm left with only 15k
Please, I need help to pay for his laptop to even pass my courses. Please help me
