Hello, guys. What's your name, and what do you do? Feel free to brag a little.
Jachii: My name is Jachii. I am a web designer and writer.
Gift: My name is Gift. I am a data analyst, writer and freelancer.
So, how did you guys meet? Was it by chance? Or perhaps it was fate?
Gift: We met on Facebook, and we had a mutual friend who I was talking to (talking stage). That friend normally commented on his posts, and that's how I got to know him. Then we both volunteered for a group and were supposed to add other volunteers, and that's how we started talking.
Jachii: Yes, the mutual friend used to tag her on my posts, so I checked her profile. It was a coincidence when I saw her in the volunteering group, and I was like, 'This girl again!' We got talking, and then I later asked her out.
Gift: So, you do stalk me? And you did not ask me out. I was ignoring you after I realized I had developed feelings for you, and when you asked why I was ignoring you, I told you. So, I gave you the hint first.
Awww. What was your first experience like when you met?
Gift: That was my first time leaving Abuja for Aba, so it was a different kind of experience. I got there late, and he was kind of scared.
Jachii: When she mentioned she was coming, I was skeptical. But it was exciting and we had a lot of experiences. Babe, remember how we dipped our legs into a puddle?
Gift: Oh yes.
What attracted you guys to each other?
Gift: He keeps this Afro like Wole Soyinka, and wears this 'papa's cap' that I find really attractive.
Jachii: I will say her intelligence and her hair. I really liked her haircut. Babe, you need to get back to it.
Have you both been in tech before you met?
Jachii: I've been in tech before we met.
Gift: He helped me with making research and choosing my career path. Getting into tech can be hard and consuming, but Jachii makes it a lot easier for me.
I go love o, you've been saying Jachii, Jachii since yesterday.
Gift: There is no way I can say anything without mentioning Jachii, since he showed up in my life almost two years ago. There is no aspect of my life that he has not dipped his big head into.
God when O. So, how has the journey been so far?
Gift: For me, this is the longest relationship I've had so far, and I don't think it's ending anytime soon. You know, I have consistency issues and get tired or bored easily, which was what I was scared of at the beginning of this relationship. But it's almost two years, and (chuckles) I don't feel bored or like leaving anytime soon. It hasn't been easy because of the distance. We've only met three times since we started dating. Though it has not been easy, irrespective of the distance we've held on, and I think that's what makes it more interesting. I could be in a close relationship and would have been tired, but there is this one that is just thousands of miles away and I still feel excited about it. It has been beautiful and blissful.
Jachii: It's been an amazing journey so far, for someone who has been in a turbulent relationship. It feels new and exciting to be in one that gives me peace of mind, and it has been amazing so far. We redefine our relationship and even celebrate our anniversary every month. For me, it shows how excited I am about the relationship. I love what we share together, and I keep looking forward to more amazing memories with her.
You've been celebrating your anniversary every month? How do you guys do it?
Gift: It depends, but what we do every month is we kind of highlight beautiful aspects of our relationship, put up love letters on our Facebook, or a video of us, or just send each other emails. Sometimes we have a virtual date; he makes my signature spaghetti, and then we watch videos together on Facebook and laugh.
Okay, let's get real for a moment. Every relationship has deal-breakers. What's the one thing that would make you say, "Nope, I'm out"?
Jachii: I will say infidelity.
Gift: For any other relationship, I would have said infidelity, but with Jachii, I think we can talk anything out. So I will want it to get to that point first, and then we see if infidelity will make me back out.
Oh wow, I hope you don't get to that point.
Gift: Amen.
Who's the top chef in the house? Who should we give the better cook award?
Gift: I am the better cook because Jachii never agrees to cook, especially when I'm around. All he does is just be there and give me gist.
Jachii: Yeah, I agree. She's the better cook.
Who's the romantic one between the two of you?
Gift: Oh, that's definitely Jachii! He's so mushy and loves to send me love poems. He even wrote me a whole book of poems for our first Valentine's Day together. He's someone you might be exchanging texts with and at a point you use no endearment, no matter how intense the discussion is, he will pause it and be like "Babe are you okay?" and I will be like yes and why then he will go "you did not add endearment to the last message" I'm like sorry I apologize. When it comes to romance, Jachii takes the cake.
Aww, lovebirds. Alright, let's get down to business. What are three things you love about your partner?
Jachii: Oh, that's a tough one. How can I compress the whole lot I love about her into three? Well, let me try. First, she loves God, and I find that very attractive. Second, she's so intentional about loving and caring for me. And third, she cooks amazing food, she cooks beans for me. I like beans, she hates beans but she still cooks them for me.
Gift: I will stop cooking beans for you.
Gift, what are the three things you love about him?
Gift: Hmm, now it's my turn. I love how protective he is of me. He's like my guide. When I have a job interview, he goes online to browse about the job, look up job interview tips online to help me out. He listens and gives in to whatever I say and he is very intentional about our relationship.

We know you love inspiring stories — don’t miss this documentary on how Raenest is changing the game. It’s a must-watch.
You two are just sweet together. How do you balance work and relationships?
Gift: We communicate a lot and understand each other's schedules and demands. We also got involved in each other's lives from the beginning, so it feels natural.
Jachii: Yeah, we understand each other's schedule, and we communicate a lot so it feels so natural.
Gift: Even if there's a tsunami. We still won't stop communicating with each other.
You guys are killing it in the love department! Have you ever worked on a project together before?
Jachii: Yes, we're currently working on one. We both got a scholarship and we are currently working on a project to present together.
How has the experience been?
Jachii: It has been tasking but the fact that I have Gift makes it easier and more interesting.
Gift: It's been a fun and enlightening experience. Learning with Jachii is amazing, and even when I lost my phone during class, he helped me out.
I'm totally loving your energy. So what is your partner's favorite color?
Jachii: Wait, does Gift even have a favorite color?
This question is for both of you, What's your partner's favorite color?
Jachii: Does Gift have a favorite color?
Gift: Very rude.
Jachii: She doesn't have a favorite color.
Gift: My favorite color is black but he doesn't want to accept.
Lmaooo, what is Jachii's favorite color?
Gift: He doesn't have one but he likes white. Black and white, you see we are made for each other.
What are the two fashion items that your partner can't do without?
Gift: His wrist watch and papa's cap.
Jachii: My wrist beads she stole…
Gift: Babe, are you calling me a thief? I thought what is yours is ours and what is mine is mine?
Jachii: ...and her knuckle rings which she cherishes so much.
Gift: Yes, I love jewelry so much. It's like the feminine thing about me. I don't even make hair before that's why he said he likes my low cut.
Jachii: The last time she made hair I had to lose it for her because it was painful and she couldn't sleep.
Gift: It was Christmas hair, everyone was doing Christmas hair and I wanted to feel among and I ended up loosening my 20k hair same day.
So sorry about that. More romance questions.
Have you ever woken up in the morning to watch your partner's beauty sleep? What usually comes to your mind?
Jachii: I do wake up before her, she sleeps peacefully and doesn't snore. I'll say it exactly the way it comes to my mind "Look at you, so beautiful."
Gift: God when???
It's happening to you so don't "God when."
Gift: When I look at him while sleeping, oh that's how I started calling him big baby and I'm like how can a man be so young yet so old. I feel so blessed.
If you could go back in time 10 years, what would you do?
Gift: I'd tell myself not to get involved with so many frogs as my Prince Charming is coming. Also I'll advise myself to get into tech earlier than I did.
Jachii: I'll tell myself not to abandon coding, it was exactly 10 years ago when I started experimenting with web design, wait for the right person (Gift) and don't run away from church.
On a scale of 1 - 10, what will you rate your partner?
Jachii: I'll rate her 7.
Gift: I'd like to do an eye for an eye but I'll rate him 9.
