West Africa’s largest cloud infrastructure company, Whogohost, has acquired Sendchamp. This Nigerian cloud communications startup powers online messaging for African businesses for an undisclosed amount as part of its strategy to diversify its suite of products and expand its offerings in the region.
Emata, a Uganda-based startup that provides affordable loans to farmers, has secured a $2.4 million seed funding round. The company plans to utilize this capital to expand its agricultural loan offerings across East Africa.
Kenyan fintech firm Lipa Later Group has raised $5 million in a privately placed debt issuance. The startup will raise an additional $20 million in equity and debt to fund its expansion plans in Kenya. It is currently crowdfunding $1.2 million in exchange for equity at a valuation of $30,000,000.
Mobility startup Mecho Autotech has successfully raised $2.4 million in a pre-Series A funding round. With this funding, the company plans to expand into wholesale automotive spare parts distribution in Nigeria, broadening its services within the automotive industry.
