Hello there, I’m Nabeelah from NTBTS. Kindly introduce yourself and what you do.
My name is Muhammad, and I am currently working as a marketing intern at a university (I prefer not to disclose).
How did you and your partner first meet? What initially attracted you to each other?
We met at the university. I was a student leader—the president of international students, and she was an international student as well. I saw her but didn’t get the chance to talk to her or even get her contact. One day, her cousin sister collected my contact and texted me so I could add her to our students’ platform, which I did. Strangely, after some minutes, a new number texted me requesting the same thing. I had a strong feeling it was her… I added her, and from then on we started texting, sending voice notes, and making phone calls. She has this cute voice and is very smart. Well, what can I say—a man fell in love completely! 😄
How long have you been together, and what made you decide to commit to this relationship?
We’ve been together for one year and two months. She’s respectful and understanding, and even though she met me before I started working when I was still a student, she really was loyal and very supportive of what I am doing.
What were your families’ reactions when they learned you were dating someone from a different African country? Or they aren’t aware yet?
Hmm, so far only one of my sisters knows. But I’ve had several calls with my mum, and she tells me no problem—whoever I get, just make sure she’s religious, good, and respectful. I’ve not told her about her, though.
How has the relationship been so far?
Well, there have been some challenges, but we talk it out and give ourselves time sometimes when needed.
What would you say is your best memory together?
Laughing together. She has this very funny laughter! 😂 For anything, the laughter is different depending on what makes us laugh.
When did you realize you were in love with each other?
She said when she had a dream about me, she woke up in love! 😂 But before then, I had feelings for her already.
Do you have anything you like doing together for fun?
Spending time together, going out for walks, eating 😄… or even watching a movie.
What was your first date like?
Well, I felt like “Yesss, God don answer my prayers!” I was so excited. I felt like... can’t explain! 😄
If she’s reading this, what would you like to tell her?
In Sha Allah, I’ll love you till Jannah.
On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate your relationship?
8—we are still building.
May Allah bless your love.
Aameen.
